Only Positive Vibes Allowed!

In a world filled with bad things happening, there comes a time where you just need to pause. Pause for a second. Pause for a minute. Pause for an hour. Pause for a day. Just pause and reflect on yourself. Only you; forget everything and everybody else. Reflect on everything that belongs to you: Your thoughts, your feelings, your life path, your career path, your body, your needs, your wants, your desires. Write them down if you feel the need to. You’ll be surprised at how messed up your mind is. You’ll find secret thoughts that have been kept hidden even from your own conscious. You’ll find that those thoughts have been affecting who you are and how you decide and where you are at this moment.

It’s time for you to filter those thoughts down and leave only the positive ones with you. Life is difficult, tough and exhausting enough that you don’t need extra pressure from your own self. The best way to relax, even if for a few seconds, is to bring those positive vibes to your conscious mind and they will gradually help rid your soul of all the negativity.

You’ll find that after filtering your mind, you’ll lead a better, successful, happy life. You’ll be more relaxed. There will still be problems coming in. I mean, at the end of the day, you’re dealing with life. But at least, the problems will be easier to handle when you have the positivity dominating your mind and soul. If you fight anger with anger, an explosion will happen. If you fight anger with calmness, the anger will vent off until it evaporates and calms down. If you fight your problems with other problems, you’ll go crazy. But if you fight your problems with potential solutions, you’ll find the optimal solution without fretting.

Whenever you’re lost, confused, mad, angry, unhappy,…just pause! Pause, Reflect and Filter! And remember: Only Positive Vibes Allowed!

Young Souls

You never understand the real meaning of something until it’s too late.

I’m in my twenties now. It’s a stage in life where one should be young, wild, free and living their days like their last.

Instead, I spend my day off wasting time and being lazy. I have a full-time job Monday through Friday. After work, I either head off to the gym or spend happy hours with my co-workers. On weekends, I spend half of the day sleeping and the other half watching series, and reading. My life right now is an easy routine that I can’t get out of.

This is a time where I should be working on myself, taking risks, dating, partying, trying new talents, travelling to a new city alone,….

But the world is getting harder and harder to live in with more obstacles that threaten one’s life and places fear in our parents’ hearts. I guess living with my parents and their rules, and the requirement to take permission to decide is my obstacle. Also, being the only daughter left at home with them leaves them more attached and harder to let go, and the only way out is to leave and live alone abroad.

It’s a period in my life that is worth remembering and is about to disappear very soon.

I’m afraid I’ll leave a little too late and miss out on that part of my life.

30 Minutes Or More of Laughter

Three years have passed but this memory, in particular, has never left my mind. I remember this “special” day very clearly. I remember it hurt so much but felt so good at the same time. I had the best 30 minutes or more of my life with my best friend.

We were in Philosophy class in our senior year in high school and we were sitting next to each other. I remember we were so bored because we had to sit for one hour to revise the material for next week’s exam. It was a stupid assignment because it was memorizing and I knew very well that if I memorize the material now, I will forget them after the class is over. It was such a meaningless class session. So my friend got bored and decided to ask the teacher a “philosophical” question.

And something weird happens to me… A small burst of laughter gets out and the teacher shoots me an angry look so I held it in (but not for too long). After the teacher left, I let out a few giggles. My friend gave me a “what-is-wrong-with-you” look and starts giggling along.

I giggle harder and harder until bursts of laughter are released. We were both laughing so hard, tears rushing down our cheeks, our abdomen aching and our mouths exhausted from intense laughter and effort to make it stop.

We have completely lost it that we took no notice of our whereabouts and that the whole class was silent and staring at us. When we looked up, we were about to cool it off until the teacher said: “When you are done laughing, maybe you could share what was it that you were laughing at.” And then that was when we laughed the hardest; my whole body was shaking with laughter.

After 30 minutes or more, my friend tells me that we have to stop and that we pushed the line. It was hard to stop. I tried but short bursts kept coming out until I cooled down gradually.

After class, we continued what was left from our beautiful and aching moment and started wondering what we were laughing at. I started it but I had no idea why; it just came out.

My friend and I laughed for 30 minutes or more on nothing; just boredom laughter!

A Kind Stranger

It’s not every day that you see someone who would do a selfless act to help another.

But there is one team, one family that you see every day giving a hand when one needs them. This family has given up its own time to volunteer in saving lives and helping those in need. This family is the Red Cross.

The Red Cross is the family that I dream to be in but I can’t due to some restrictions.  It is a family that I admire for their selfless and huge heart and who are always there when one need them.

It is a family that build the sense of security in a person. It brings you hope that even in a selfish and greedy world that we live in, there is someone to depend on to be there when you are in need. That even if it is the slightest burn or it is 3 AM, they will be there.

This family is everyone’s Kind Stranger.

This somebody who is rare to find these days, does actually exist and we see them every day.

Always donate to the Red Cross and be sure that your donation will help and make difference for all vulnerable people.  This could be your chance to belong this team and help them, even if you really can’t.

A dollar could always make a change.

Being Social on Social Media

I used to think it was a waste of time, and I used to feel guilty when I over-use it. I used to get scared when my parents would catch me using it instead of studying.

Now, I don’t give a shit anymore!

I took a social media management course this semester and it entitled that we stay updated on social media as much as we can. Through this course, I learned about my career passion. I am seeking for job as a community manager. I want to spend my day on social media, monitoring performance on social media and creating online value for the company.

Now when my parents catch me on social media, I’ll just tell them I’m either studying or doing my job. I am not wasting time; I’m working!

I feel so powerful right now 😉

How can you tell?

The universe we are in right now that is filled with many, many unanswered mysteries is my reason to believe

There are a lot of things that I can’t prove; such as God, reincarnation, aliens, and the Ultimate Truth. I can’t show you or explain any of these because I don’t know and nobody knows. It’s a mystery that hasn’t been proven up to this date.

So when people ask me how can you tell that there is God, or aliens, or an Ultimate Truth or that reincarnation can occur, I say: ” I don’t know, and no one knows, but I can believe it. There are a lot of unanswered questions which gives you a reason to believe the most unusual and “impossible” things to exist.”

I mean, why not? Who told you that it is impossible? Do you know who are our neighbors in the universe? Do you know where we are right now? Yes, we are on Earth but where does earth lie? It lies In the Universe that is filled with mysteries that are difficult to answer. Moreover, there are things that are not visible to the naked eye or are beyond human capabilities. So there’s lots of “stuff” that we still don’t understand or know of that could exist.

But there is no harm in believing and being a little bit creative. A lot of people I talk to, by default or unconsciously understand it as “I know” instead of  ” I believe”. Please, listen to me … I BELIEVE!!

Detect, Capture and Take it!

I always come upon chances, but there are only a few of them and it would be a shame if I forget about them.

There are a few chances that I ignored because I was either too busy or too lazy to do them and ended up regretting it. But there was this one chance that I decided to forget about it because I didn’t have time but then I took it before it was gone.

A competition from L’Oreal was announced. It was made especially for marketing majors students (like me). I knew this would take a lot of time, because it required a lot of commitment and dedication. I mean we had to develop a product and run it! In the middle of the semester and in the heat of the examinations and midterms, we had to give some of our time to it. So, at first, I told my friend that we can’t do it… just ignore it. But then our teacher in class mentioned it and she was extremely motivational. She said that you are marketing students, and that is exactly what you’ll be working in the future and that is what companies look up to when they hire. Even if we didn’t win, the fact alone that we participated and tried will look fabulous on a CV. So, I immediately talked to my friend and told him that we have to participate before it’s too late. And we did.

It was an amazing experience. First, there were campus finals and we worked our best for it and we passed! They picked 6 out of 25 teams and we were one of the six. I felt good and confident and very motivated and competitive to go on to the next round which was the Nationals. In the Nationals, we had to present our product and build a digital strategy to build awareness and create engagement. We were there that evening, and on that same day I had a very important concentration midterm right before the Nationals. But it was definitely worth it! I mean I had the chance to stand in front of Kiehl’s representative, 2 HR managers, marketing manager and other managers in L’Oreal to show them our hard work! And even though we weren’t the chosen team for international finals, yet it was still a wonderful learning experience better than any course or book I have studied.

It’s an opportunity that would have definitely haunted me, if I didn’t take it. It’s a chance for future job opportunities at well-known companies and L’Oreal. And it’s an achievement to look up to!
